Overview

Located five minutes from the edge of Cannock Chase, Bod Cafe Stafford is a great option if you’re looking for some refreshment after a long trek. They’re open and serving food near enough all day, so you can nip in for a bite to eat no matter when you’re in the area. Check out the menus on their website to see what they’re serving when.

The cafe boasts a relaxing and cosy environment, perfect for those colder winter days. They’re conscious about doing things sustainably and utilizing local suppliers from everything for coffee to crisps. Parking is limited to 4 disabled spots right outside the cafe, but there is a fairly big car park literally opposite the front door that you can make use of.

What To Expect

We last visited at breakfast time to fuel up for our hike around the Shugborough Estate and Cannock Chase. The Full English Breakfast and Eggs Benedict we ordered were both fantastic, and arrived fairly quickly considering how busy the cafe was. The locally supplied ground coffee from Chartley coffee we had was also excellent. Flynn had his own quiet corner to settle down in (when he wasn’t begging for bacon). Water bowls for dogs were also freely available. The staff were friendly, attentive, and great with Flynn.

While we both opted for meals featuring bacon on this occasion, there’s no shortage of vegetarian and vegan options across all of the menus. Bod also offers gluten free dishes – be sure to let them know your requirements when ordering so that they can amend your dish accordingly. There’s a great selection of beers on tap here too if you’ve worked up a thirst from hiking. Bod is supplied by the Titanic brewery in Stoke-on-Trent and has a range of their ales on draft, including the famous Plum Porter.

What's Nearby?

As previously mentioned, it’s situated a stone’s throw away from Cannock Chase, where’s there’s no shortage of trails to choose from. You’re also only five minutes away from the Shugborough Estate, that has loads of parkland and historic buildings for you and your dog to explore.

Venturing slightly further afield, Blithfield Reservoir is a 15 minute drive away. Heading north will take you to Trentham Estate, with its dog friendly shopping village and Italian gardens.
