Is Travelodge Dog Friendly?

Is Travelodge Dog Friendly?

The short answer is yes – dogs are allowed to stay with you when you book a room with Travelodge. There are some caveats though that you should be aware of before making a booking. In this article, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about staying at one of these budget friendly chain hotels with your dog.

How Many Dogs Can I Take To Travelodge?

A maximum of two domesticated pets are allowed in a Travelodge room. In this case, domesticated pets refers to cats and dogs. This means if you’ve only got one dog and want to bring your cat along too then you can. Just to be clear though, you can’t bring two of each. If you’re bringing two dogs, the cat will have to stay at home (sorry kitty)!

How Much Do Travelodge Charge For Dogs?

Travelodge charge a fee of £20 per dog per stay. They charge this additional fee to cover the extra cleaning needed to get up all those pesky dog hairs. You can either pay the charge up front when booking online (select the pet service as an extra when making a reservation), or at check in when you arrive at the hotel.

There are some exceptions to this. If your dog is a guide dog, hearing dog or another kind of disability aid dog, then they are exempt from this charge. If this applies to you and your dog then select the “no pets” option from the extras page when making a booking to avoid paying the fee. Just make sure to notify the hotel that you are bringing an assistance dog with you so they can prepare you a room accordingly.

What Rules Do Travelodge Have Regarding Dogs?

As the dogs owner, it is your responsibility to make sure that your dog is well behaved and avoids disturbing other guests.  This means they should be quiet in the evening when other customers are trying to sleep, and not partake in bad behaviours like jumping up when around other guests or staff.

Dogs should also not be left unattended at any time. This rule applies whether they are in a public area or in your room. While you’re in a public part of the hotel, it’s compulsory for your dog to be on a lead. Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant section of the hotel.

Do All Travelodges Accept Dogs?

All Travelodges welcome dogs, which means you don’t have to worry about arranging a kennel stay or a sitter when you travel regardless of where you go. They have over 500 hotels in the UK, so no part of the country is off limits.

Whether your next adventure is in the scenic Scottish Highlands or on the sunny South Coast, you’ll have a pet friendly Travelodge nearby to use as a base of exploration.

Do Travelodge Provide Amenities For Dogs?

While all Travelodges accept dogs, the provision of facilities like water bowls and dog beds does not come as standard. From what we have seen, whether you are given these items varies between individual locations. If in doubt, ring up the hotel you are interested in staying at and see whether they’ll provide bowls and a bed for your pup.

We’d always advise taking your own bowls and bed/blanket. You’re then covered in the event that the hotel cannot provide. Also, the scent of a familiar blanket from home will help your dog to settle in a new environment.
